C. Eng, B. Eng (Hons)
Howard is an accomplished advisor, business coach and consultant, having been a Managing Partner of Danburykline, Head of Operations at Baines Simmons and Senior Production Manager at British Airways. He brings to you significant expertise in operations, production and safety management in both aviation and rail. Howard has helped several clients achieve improved maintenance performance including: Greater Anglia, Virgin Trains East Coast, High Speed 1, Eurostar, Great Western Railway.
Howard during his time at Baines Simmons built a business from a start up – to a fully functional multi-million pound world leading consultancy. Transformational assignments during this time included Rolls Royce, the Royal Air Force, KLM Royal Dutch, Shell Brunei, Cairn India, Bond Helicopters, CHC and Bristow Group.
Howard is a Chartered Engineer and an active member of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Howards sits on the Professional Review Boards for Chartered and Incorporated Engineers. In Rail Howard has contributed to RSSB research into wheelset management and inspection regimes.
As Senior Production Manager British Airways, the role involved leading a multi-discipline team keeping the BA long-haul fleet maintained to standard, profitably. BA Engineering is a wholly owned subsidiary of BA and had to return profit. This period shaped his views on maintenance efficiency and how safety, maintenance and profit can all combine. Under his watch the facility achieved the highest ever aircraft delivery performance of 98% on time departure; as well as delivering 85% productivity. A remarkable team effort, one he is quietly very proud of.
Outside of work Howard is a keen skier, either planning the next trip, or talking about the previous one! Enjoys cycling and hill walking and is always up for a challenge – having Climbed Kilimanjaro, cycled Vietnam and completed several three-peak challenges. Outside of that he does enjoy a beer and a curry, and is a (social) member of Harlequins Rugby Club.
