Production Manager – Level 5 course
The Modern
Maintenance Manager
GS08
Presented by experienced managers
The production manager is the most senior production person in the train care centre and is accountable for delivering production (and service). They typically report directly to the site leader, or TCC Manager.
This course builds from the knowledge gained during team leader and the CS08 IPD course for that grade. It adds commercial aspects of maintenance and considers the role of the production manager in the modern maintenance centre.
Like the CS08 course, this is not a leadership course, we have GS01 if you wanted those skills, although many companies have capable internal resources for that. GS08 is focussed on maintenance management, rather than people skills required in the role.
KEY TOPICS
The modern transport business

The future of maintenance
“The delivery has been exceptional and having that exam has focussed minds well. The work-based assignments have been impressive and has given me a fresh insight to some of our team leaders. In short Howard, it has more than delivered on my expectations and raised the professional bar at Hitachi. I recommend all rail professionals to consider this course.”
Mark Barry, Head of Operations, Hitachi Rail (UK)
Course
delivery
This course can be delivered onsite or close to your location. It is very intense, and the delegate should be 100% free to attend. The delegate is immersed in several real-life case studies that they use to develop skills they have learnt.
Using in-class exercises, combined with practical application throughout the three days, culminating in the presentation of planning strategic recommendations. A highly interactive course that delegates thoroughly enjoy and take much from.
Learning from experienced peers helps the student grasp the topic quicker. EngPro always has a high regard for the facilitator understanding ‘my world’.
